Thank you for your interest in becoming part of the Just Footprints Foundation family.
Our volunteers are the heartbeat of our camps, and we are always excited to welcome passionate individuals who want to make a real difference in the lives of our children. Whether you’re a teacher, nurse, social worker, creative in music or the arts, a recent school graduate, a student, or simply someone with a passion to serve, there is a place for you on our Camp Crew. If you can give a day, a weekend, or five days, we have meaningful opportunities waiting for you. (All volunteers must be over 18 years old.) Our Camp Crew is made up of passionate individuals from all walks of life, united by one goal: to uplift, empower, and inspire our children.
Camp Crew Training
Every Camp Crew member participates in a dedicated training workshop before camp, ensuring they are fully equipped to care for and support our campers with compassion and confidence.
Volunteering as a Camp Footprints Crew Member is no ordinary experience.
You get an unforgettable opportunity to
- Meet incredible children who inspire with their courage and enthusiasm
- Making lifelong friendships with fellow crew members
- Join a new family of kindness, learning and experiencing life with a touch of fun
- Gain unforgettable experiences
As a proud member of the SeriousFun Children’s Network Partner Camp Programme in the USA, founded by Paul Newman, we uphold the highest standards of safety and care. Our affiliation ensures access to international medical and psychosocial expertise, as well as impactful resources and programming tailored to children with serious health challenges. At camp, we have a ratio of one camp crew member to two campers. So, if we have 50 campers, we need a trained camp crew of 25 to support and mentor the campers. At Just Footprints Foundation, we intentionally train new crew for every camp to create meaningful opportunities for unemployed youth. By rotating teams, we open doors for more young people to gain hands-on experience, build confidence, and explore potential career paths.
Our comprehensive crew training covers essential skills such as leadership, hospitality, basic medical awareness, risk assessment and team building. These sessions are designed to prepare crew members to work effectively across diverse cultural, linguistic and age groups, ensuring every camper is supported with care, empathy, and professionalism based on our three main pillars: LOVE, SAFETY and RESPECT. Our pre-camp training model has earned high praise from hospital and beneficiary organisation leadership and staff, who attend our training workshops and commend its relevance and transformative approach. Beyond immediate outcomes, the training has fostered lasting growth among their teams, empowering staff with renewed confidence, empathy, and practical tools that continue to enrich the lives of the children in their care.
The magic of camp starts with YOU!
Make an Impact and help children with serious health challenges step into a world where everything is possible. Camp Footprints camps run on passion and the generosity of volunteers who make camp happen.
Please come and join us at camp!
