30 campers spent a fun weekend, not too far from home, with Reach For A Dream Foundation, their volunteers and Just Footprints at a Camp Sunshine Camp. The campers were given the opportunity to discover the amazing wilderness around them, to learn new skills, to develop self-confidence and to feel ‘free’. The camp encourages them to be fearless, to escape, fantasize and just to be carefree.

23 campers spent the weekend away from the Paediatric Oncology Unit, with Reach For A Dream Foundation and their volunteers for fun and a difference of environment at a Camp Sunshine Camp in partnership with Just Footprints. And what an awesome place to be: a game farm, filled with the Big Five, sun, birds and laughter. Just Footprints Foundation’s camp gave them the opportunity to experience that which they would normally forgo due to their challenging circumstances. To escape and fantasise and to remember what it is to be a child – that was the special experience of each child attending the camp.

25 campers spent the weekend away close to nature with Just Footprints, Reach For A Dream Foundation and their volunteers for fun and laughter at a Camp Sunshine Camp. Whilst there, they learnt new skills, made new friends and had loads of adventures.

Cotlands Hlabisa KZN and The Gateway School | The Mercury Hibberdene Children’s Holiday Home

104 excited campers experienced their first ever holiday at the sea. This was 5 days of many firsts for these very special children, experiencing as they did the thrill of sea and sand between their toes while walking on an unspoilt stretch of beach, the waves lapping against their legs and heard the caw of a seagull. It was a 5 day camp in which they were able to develop confidence and enhance their self-esteem in a safe and nurturing yet fun environment: A Just Footprints Camp.

CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa – KwaZulu Natal | The Mercury Hibberdene Children’s Holiday Home

33 campers from all over KZN being treated at Durban’s Albert Luthuli Hospital Paediatric Oncology Unit joined us for 5 days on the pristine beaches of Hibberdene. Here they enjoyed fun on the beach, and adrenalin up in the skies and in fast cars. All activities are geared towards providing an opportunity for the campers to learn new skills, develop confidence, enhance their self-esteem and be joyful kids once again, in a wonderful, safe environment. This is thanks to our friends at Port Shepstone Rotary Club.

CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa | Phiri Camp Kwalata in Dinokeng Big Five Game Reserve, Gauteng – Pretoria

87 campers joined us for an exciting and busy 5 days of music, rhythm and dance in a stunning wilderness setting where they embarked on a special journey filled with discovery and adventure, laughter and new friends. It was an amazing 5 days during which they were able to forget about their serious health challenges and were given the chance to just be happy-go-lucky children again.

The Gateway School | Phiri Camp Kwalata in Dinokeng Big Five Game Reserve, Gauteng

60 special campers joined us once again to experience a Just Footprints Camp. The campers are now in their senior year of learning at The Gateway School. They enjoyed the sun, the animals and their environment and revelled at the freedom experienced at the camp. Making friends and challenging themselves through various activities, they had the opportunity to have fun and develop confidence and self-esteem.

34 very special campers joined us at Camp Footprints for three days of amazing fun. This was their annual camp and they chose to share it with us. They enjoyed learning about their environment through touching, walking and experiencing the wildlife around them and had the time of their lives.

37 excited campers joined in for a 5 day long camp of fun in an incredible setting surrounded by mountains and sea, to participate in an amazing life-changing adventure with our friends from The Constantia Rotary Club. During this camp, new friendships were forged and they were able to escape from the realities of their health challenges and just be joyful kids once again.
