Camp-on-the-Move and In-Hospital programmes are an exciting new initiative JFF has implemented which are held post camp at the beneficiary organisations whose children have attended camp to reinforce the ‘power of camp’. Not only do the campers come to relive the fun of camp and renew camp friendships, but the staff and the other children who did not attend camp can experience the joy of camp as well. We will be extending our camp outreach footprint during from Gauteng and the Western Cape to new organisations in different communities in KZN and other regions of South Africa. The JFF training of the beneficiary staff before every outreach programme has been enthusiastically applied and implemented ‘post outreach’ into their own programmes and the whole organization has benefitted from our JFF camp outreach initiative.
The outreach programmes also include our ‘Camp-on-the-Move-in-Hospital’ programme where JFF brings camp to the paediatric oncology wards where children who are receiving treatment are too ill to come to camp. We create a camp atmosphere and introduce fun activities designed specifically for the young patients in which they can fully participate. We also encourage the parents/primary caregivers who support their sick child to join in the camp fun.
